Midlothian MP David Hamilton has defended his non-appearance at last week’s Westminster vote on air strikes against IS.
He said: “I was already committed to attend an overseas wedding. It would have cost an abnormal amount to return or cancel the trip completely.
“However, I knew the three parties had already agreed a limited course of action based on the recent horrific acts that are taking place by IS.
“Bearing the limited action, I would have voted with the majority.
“I would be extremely reluctant to vote for any further action.”
