Prestonpans leisure centre to close for repairs in Christmas run-up
A LEISURE centre in East Lothian is shutting down for nine days while repairs are carried out.
The Mercat Gait Centre, in Prestonpans, will close from December 17 to 26 while work takes place on the gym and dance studio floor, among other repairs.
Benches at the health suite sauna are being upgraded while walls at the changing village are being repainted. The temporary closure comes after Olympic star Lynsey Sharp told how she was prevented from training at Meadowbank Stadium because the groundsman was on holiday.
An East Lothian Council spokesman said: “We thank all our customers and business partners for their patience and wish all a very pleasant festive period.”
