£5k funds boost for mental health charity

A NEW mental health charity has been given an early funding boost.

A £5000 grant was awarded by the Edinburgh-based Lloyds TSB Foundation for Scotland to the PROP Stress Centre, which has merged with the Threshold Mental Health Project in Clermiston to form a new organisation, Living Well North Edinburgh.

The charity provides group support activities to help build confidence and help people deal with stress and mental health problems.

It also runs arts and crafts sessions, Tai Chi and jewellery-making classes.

The grant will go towards the cost of the charity’s Funding My Voice programme, which focuses on confidence building, listening skills and stress management.
