While the country is rocked on a daily basis with the shenanigans of the national press, there is a new newspaper in the county promoting traditional journalism.
Pupils at Roslin Primary are hard at work on the second edition of the school newspaper, The Roslin I.
The editorial committee, responsible for generating the paper’s content, consists of 16 pupils from P5 to P7. The children are supported by adult helpers Renske Brune and Amanda Cameron.
Ms Brune explained: “When I was at school, we had a newspaper and I remember being so excited about it. Suddenly it dawned on me I wanted to give the children here the same opportunity, and for them to be able to decide what goes in and for them to produce it.”
Preparations for the first edition began in April, with the committee looking to fellow pupils at Roslin Primary and Bilston Annexe to produce items.
