Pupils prove good sports
PUPILS at Craigmount High School are training for a 12-hour “sportathon” to raise funds for a charity that has helped a teacher’s daughter.
PE teachers Calum Thomas and Stephen Raeburn have organised the event in aid of Sport Relief and the Children’s Liver Disease Foundation.
Calum’s two-year-old daughter, Megan, suffers from liver disease tyrosinaemia, which is so rare that she is one of only two people in Scotland to have it.
From 6am to 6pm on Friday, most of the school’s 1400 pupils will take part in everything from five-a-side football matches and dodgeball, to basketball and badminton, and even a one-mile run.
