A PLAN to increase the height of a roof on a Penicuik house has been approved, despite concerns about its impact on neighbours.
Midlothian Council’s planning committee has granted Neil Devine permission for alterations at 24 Broomhill Road. Members voted nine to two in favour of the proposal, despite a neighbour’s concern about a one-metre rise in the roof’s ridge level.
Peter Arnsdorf, the council’s development management manager, told members that the plan also involved the erection of a pitched roof extension and a garage. He acknowledged that the changes were significant.
