Edinburgh expat reader Marjorie Metcalf is hoping to track down an old friend from the Capital who she hasn’t seen in the last 40 years.
She writes: “I now live in Australia, born in Edinburgh and would like to find an old friend, Margaret Swan – although she may have a married name by now.
“She was a hairdresser in Swan’s Hairdressers on Frederick Street, working for her uncle. I left in the early 1960s for Australia and lost touch with her but she is always in my mind. She would have known me as Marjorie McKendrick. Can any of your readers help?”
