Midlothian’s largest registered social landlord has completed more new homes in 2013 than in any other year in its 20 year history.
Melville Housing completed 106 new homes during the year, eclipsing the previous high of 68 which its development programme delivered in 2009.
As well as investing in new properties, Melville also spent a record £3.8 million improving and maintaining existing homes, including the comprehensive overhaul of hundreds of properties in Mayfield.
The work has made improvements to the energy efficiency of almost 300 Melville properties, cutting hundreds of pounds from energy bills, as well as improving the appearance and life span of the buildings.
