Recycling fears for Midlothian are allayed

CONCERNS that recycling waste is being sent to landfill because of the bad weather have been dismissed by Midlothian Council.

Waste collections across the county have been disrupted, with people asked to put extra waste alongside normal collections.

“We want to assure the public that the materials to be recycled did not go to landfill but were sent to the recycling and waste management company, Virador in Gilmerton.”
