DALKEITH: Pupils of St Davids RC School will be at their desks as usual next week. The threat by parents to keep their children off school as a protest at the delay by Midlothian County Education Committee in building a new school at Dalkeith has been withdrawn.
DALKEITH: The Scottish Widows Fund and Life Assurance Company this week announced plans to expand into Midlothian with the development of a major computer centre on vacant land at Melville Gate, Dalkeith - seen as a major coup by Midlothian District Council.
DANDERHALL: Fourteen bids have been lodged for the site of the former Monktonhall Colliery. The Coal Authority’s agent, Ryden of Edinburgh, set a deadline of August 14, and received a lot of interest from national companies. A shortlist of four is to be drawn up.
