PENICUIK: Planning consent for a new pavilion in the Public Park has been granted to Penicuik Town Council. It had been agreed by Midlothian Education Committee that a grant of 25 per cent of the estimated cost of £7,800 would be made towards the cost of the Pavilion. This amounted to £1,950.


MILLERHILL: Heart of Midlothian Football Club this week unveiled plans for a £100 million stadium and business development, centred at Millerhill. The development, with a 30,000 all-seater covered stadium as the key focus, could also include a food superstore, a hotel and three restaurants.


MIDLOTHIAN: A new local radio station in Midlothian could be up and running by June after it was granted a licence following a two year campaign. Black Diamond FM, the brainchild of Midlothian Community Media Association, has been awarded a five-year community radio licence by Ofcom.
