Rise in Midlothian adult harm cases

VULNERABLE adults are suffering through an increase in financial abuse, a new report reveals.

The issue has been highlighted by Tom Wood, the independent chairman of the Adult Protection Committee of Mid and East Lothian, in his assessment of the service between April 2010 and March 2012.

Figures show that financial harm is the main problem reported in Midlothian, accounting for 29 per cent of referrals.
