Work has finally started on repairing the road through Roslin Glen.
The B7003 – between Rosewell and Roslin – has been closed for more three years following a landslip which damaged sections of the roadway.
Midlothian Council was due to start work in February, but was delayed because of heavy rain and flooding, freezing temperatures and show showers.
A council spokesman told the Advertiser: “Preparatory work such as tree felling was undertaken last week to allow embankment works to commence.”
