Youngsters at Penicuik Rugby Club received a visit from a legend of the game last week.
The club’s under 15s and P6 group received a couple of hours of training and tips from Scotland’s record points scorer Chris Paterson – who also took time to sign autographs and answer questions from the boys and girls.
Penicuik RFC’s youth convener, Andy Law, commented “The kids have been really inspired by having such an outstanding player come to their club to coach them. We’re all really grateful to Chris for taking time out from his busy schedule to visit. Thanks are also due to club member Peter Casebow for setting it all up for us.”
Penicuik Rugby Club runs teams for all ages. Training for Minis (P2 to P7) takes place on Wednesdays from 6.15pm to 7.15pm and on Sundays from 11am. Secondary school age training is on Wednesday nights at the same time, with other sessions on Mondays (7pm to 8pm) and with games on Sundays.
