School appoints new headteacher

Susan Cook has worked at the school for a number of years and was previously acting headteacher. She has taken over from Elaine Cook, who was promoted to head of schools with education Support for West Lothian Council.

Susan said: “I have been fortunate enough to have been a part of Deans Community High School for several years and to now be headteacher is a real ­privilege.

“This school has built up a well-deserved reputation for setting high standards for young people and offering them excellent care, support and learning. I aim to continue with, and build upon, the good work that has been done there in recent years and I am delighted to be given the opportunity to work with a very strong and committed staff.”
