Bees, bubbles and biscuits - this year’s Midlothian Science Festival has something for everyone.
Whether it’s penguins or pandas, robotics or rambles, the two week celebration of the scientific and natural world is sure to be a winner.

There are festival venues across the county between October 2-17. Highlights include an open day at the Easter Bush campus on October 3, a science alive gala day at the Lasswade Centre on October 10, a sci-fun roadshow at the National Mining Museum, Newtongrange, a science day at the Glencorse Centre, Auchendinny, on October 16, and a science gala day at Mayfield Library on October 17.
There will be a host of interactive events, lectures and a prehistoric fun day. Activities take place indoors and out.
Meanwhile, VisitScotland recently hailed key events in the Lothians as contributors to the success of Homecoming 2014 which generated £136 million of additional revenue to the Scottish economy. Special mention was made of the Midlothian Science Festival which was one of the Homecoming events in the local area.
