Searches find 220 weapons
POLICE caught 220 people carrying offensive weapons in the Lothian and Borders area during searches over six months, new figures have shown.
Officers carried out a total of 5942 searches between April and September. During the same period in the previous year, 4597 searches produced 207 “positive” recoveries.
Meanwhile, 7244 searches for drugs during the same period this year produced 768 drug finds. Last year’s six-month total was 719 “positive” results.
