A commemorative service will be held in Crichton Collegiate Church on August 4 to mark the start of World War One.

Organised by Lord Lieutenant Sir Robert Clerk, the Midlothian service will be held on the same day and same time as services across the country including Westminster Abbey.

The service, which starts at 10pm, will take the form of a candlelit vigil with lights going out at 11pm.
