Arniston Rangers hope new signing Craig Thomson is allowed to “get on with his life” following his sex offender conviction three years ago.
As the Advertiser went to press on Tuesday, the former Hearts star was expected to sign until the end of the season for the Gorebridge side, after starring as a trialist in a 1-0 win at Bathgate on Saturday.
In 2011 the 22-year-old from Bonnyrigg was placed on the sex offenders register for five years for preying on under age girls online.
Arniston Rangers’ club secretary Alan Walker told the Advertiser: “We just want him to be allowed to get on with his football.
“Hopefully the rest of the rubbish will disappear.
“We have got a great player. You don’t get on the verge of possibly playing for Scotland and then suddenly you are not any good.
“I just hope the laddie can get on with his life.”
