Sir Tom to address exhibition for investors

SELF-made billionaire Sir Tom Hunter has been named among the keynote speakers at a major exhibition being held in the Capital later this year.

The Scots entrepreneur behind Sports Division will address audiences at EIE13, which has been billed as the largest investor event in the country.

More than 60 firms will be exhibiting their products to experts from infomatics, energy and life sciences. They will have the chance to meet with more than 100 investors from the UK, Europe and the USA.

Gordon Stuart of Informatics Ventures, one of the firms co-ordinating the event at Assembly Rooms on May 9, said: “Once again we’re looking to uncover companies with global growth potential and ensure they have a place at EIE13 to meet potential investors.

“Since the inaugural event in 2008, we have introduced well over 150 start-ups to investors and these companies have gone on to raise tens of millions of pounds worth of seed funding.

“EIE13 will be the biggest and best to date thanks to our new strategic partnerships and sponsors, and we will be able to showcase even more businesses and attract larger numbers of investors.”
