Smoking out law changes

RETAILERS in East Lothian are being reminded of their legal obligations under the Scottish Government’s Smoking Prevention Action Plan.

Trading standards officers have been visiting retailers to advise them of measures that must be taken under the plans, which aim to reduce the availability of tobacco products to persons under 18 years of age.

Cabinet Member for Environment Councillor Barry Turner said: “Officers from Trading Standards are visiting tobacco sellers advising traders of their legal obligations in relation to the sale of tobacco.”
