Soldiers aim to win battle of their wits

SOLDIERS in Edinburgh are to be put through their paces for charity – but not in the way they are used to.

The upcoming Battle of the Barracks event will test members from both Dreghorn and Redford, but on their wit rather than physical ability.

Organised by Napier University students for Help the Heroes, it will consist of two teams of five competing in “minute to win it-style games”.

One of the organisers, Molly Dingwall, said: “Help for Heroes, we believe, is an outstanding charity.

“We are fortunate enough to have been in contact with a Scottish representative from the charity who has agreed and is keen to join us at the event to speak about the charity.”

Battle of the Barracks will take place at the Three Sisters bar on the Cowgate on November 21, from 7.30pm.

It will include a guest speaker and live music.

Tickets are priced £3.
