Queen: From Rags to Rhapsody (BBC4, 10pm)

This year is the 40th anniversary of Bohemian Rhapsody becoming Christmas number one for the first time (in a bit of chart history, the track went on to claim the festive top spot for a second time following Freddie Mercury’s death in 1991). So, BBC Four is marking the occasion with this documentary, which tells the story of how Queen went from a struggling band playing pubs and colleges to one of the world’s biggest bands. The film draws on previously unseen interviews, rare footage and outtakes from the recording sessions of Bohemian Rhapsody.
