Step out for circus bears

FUNDRAISERS will take part in a sponsored walk tomorrow in a bid to raise cash to rescue three mistreated circus bears.

Kind-hearted members of the local community, from rookie walkers to experienced ramblers, will cover three miles to raise funds for Five Sisters Zoo’s nationwide circus bear fund.

The campaign to raise £80,000 for a new enclosure at Five Sisters in West Calder for Carmen, Suzy and Peggy, who are currently in a holding centre in Belgium, has already raised £33,000. Walkers will gather at the bridge car park (south) from 11.30am.
