Swiss firm’s recruitment drive begins

Swiss banking software firm Avaloq has begun recruiting for its Edinburgh workforce.

Securing Avaloq, which plans to create up to 500 jobs over the next five years, has been seen as a major coup for the Capital.

It has emerged that the recruitment drive is already well under way for highly-skilled staff to work in the new office.

Eden Scott has confirmed that it has recruited its first nine graduates to work at the software development centre, which is expected to open at an as-yet unspecified city centre location in February.

Niall Bree, Eden Scott’s dedicated manager for Avaloq, said: “We’ve been very impressed by the strong, immediate interest being shown locally. “The graduates recruited so far, mainly for software engineering and IT business analysis posts, all have very strong academic backgrounds from high-profile Scottish universities.”
