Teenager in hospital after city centre attack

A TEENAGER was hospitalised after suffering a serious assault in the city centre.

The incident happened at around 3.15am when an 18-year-old man sustained significant injuries to his arm following an altercation on Rose Street.

He had been at a nightclub on George Street when an argument broke out with another man who had not been part of the group.

A short time later, the men were seen running down Hanover Street before turning onto Rose Street, at which point the suspect attacked the male, resulting in serious injury to his right arm.

He was last seen heading along Rose Street in the direction of St Andrew Square before being lost from sight.

Paramedics were called to the scene where they treated the injured man before transferring him to hospital.

The suspect is described as white, in his twenties, around 5ft 8ins tall, with a slim build, shaved head and was wearing a red cardigan, blue polo shirt and blue jeans.
