Television - One to Watch

Now in its 25th year, the biennial Red Nose Day is back, and the likes of Lenny Henry, Dermot O’Leary and Claudia Winkleman are on hand to raise cash to help thousands in Africa and the UK.

In Comic Relief – Funny For Money, Rowan Atkinson tickles a few ribs as the new Archbishop of Canterbury; Jessie J will have her head shaved in the studio; One Direction belt out their Comic Relief single; Miranda Hart gives us a light-hearted take on Call the Midwife, while Miss Piggy also makes an appearance being made for malicious reasons, but nobody seeQ

Naturally there are plenty of reminders of why the great and the good are making fools of themselves.

One of the reasons is to raise awareness of the number of deaths from malaria, as highlighted in last week’s BBC drama Mary and Martha.
