Television - Text Santa (STV, Friday, December 21, 8pm)

What’s It All About? Last year, this telethon raised more than £4 million for six charities via text messages sent by viewers watching at home.

This year, it’s hoped that total will be surpassed, with Age UK, Anthony Nolan, Carers UK, Marie Curie Cancer Care, Together for Short Lives and Whizz-Kidz all set to benefit.

A star-studded batch of presenters has been lined-up - Ant & Dec, Phillip Schofield, Holly Willoughby, Christine Bleakley and Paddy McGuinness will all be on hand to introduce star acts and sketches featuring various famous faces and TV shows in what promises to be a wonderful evening’s entertainment.

Look Out For: Snow Whitechapel. It’s a spoof mash-up of the classic Snow White tale and ITV1’s flagship crime drama Whitechapel. Steve Pemberton has written it, and will appear alongside his regular cast-mates Rupert Penry-Jones and Phil Davis.

Ant & Dec say: “This year we want to make it even bigger and better and you can get involved too by simply ordering a fundraising pack and putting the fun into fundraising.”
