Midlothian has a new Lord Lieutenant.

Sir Robert Clerk is the Queen’s representative in the county, replacing Patrick Prenter, who has retired from the post.

He told the Advertiser: “It is a great honour. There are lots of interesting things I am looking forward to becoming involved with.”
