The roads in the Capital are still in need of maintenance despite the ongoing Covid-19 crisis, with roads closed across the city for roadworks from today.

Edinburgh City Council publish the details of every single road closure or diversion planned from today, with roadworks planned for essential upgrade works and for broadband.

Here is a list of all of the roadworks which are starting in Edinburgh today.

Ravelston Dykes: Three-way temporary traffic lights at Orchard Road South for essential work to boost broadband capacity by BT. Due to last until 21 May.

Clermiston Road North: Road closed at Queensferry Road for essential network reinforcement work by Cityfibre. Due to take three weeks.

Pennywell Road: Lane closures at West Pilton Crescent for essential cable installation across Pennywell Road to boost broadband capacity by Cityfibre. Due to last until 25 May.

Orchard Place: Three-way temporary traffic lights at Orchard Brae Gardens for essential cable work to improve broadband capacity by BT. Due to last until 20 May.

Moredun Park Road: Three-way temporary traffic lights between Moredun Park Street and Moredunvale Place for essential high-voltage cabling by Scottish Power. Due to take between two and three weeks.

Comiston Road: Temporary traffic lights from Greenbank Crescent working southwards to Braid Hills Hotel for cabling work to support mobile network by Cityfibre. Due to last up to seven days.

Morningside Road: Three-way temporary traffic lights at Falcon Avenue for essential cable installation by BT. Due to last until 22 May.

Kirk Brae: Road closed between Liberton Road and Double Hedges Road and no exit from Double Hedges Road to Kirk Brae between today and 22 May. Then from 25 May, for four weeks, working southwards from Double Hedges Road to Kirk Park with two or three-way temporary traffic lights. Work for essential telecoms cabling by Cityfibre, due to end 21 June.
