Edinburgh traffic: Incident which caused major disruption on Edinburgh Bypass cleared but traffic remains heavy

Earlier we reported the westbound A720 is blocked between Gilmerton and Lasswade due to a road accident.

It is understood that a lorry shed its load onto the carriageway.

Traffic Scotland also confirmed an accident on the eastbound bypass just after the Sherriffhall roundabout.

A vehicle broke down in lane 1.
