Granton Road: One lane closed and buses diverted as massive ‘sinkhole’ appears

The hole in the road has been barricaded off for safety reasons.

A lane has been closed and buses have been diverted as a massive sinkhole appears on Granton Road.

Lothian buses announced that the number 8 and the number 14 buses are affected.

They have stated: “Due to a road closure buses are unable to serve Granton Road and are instead diverted via Clark Road, Trinity Road, Lomond Road, Primrose Bank Road and Boswall Road north bound.

“City bound services are diverted via Boswall Road, Primrose Bank Road, Stirling Road, East Trinity Road and Clark Road until further notice.”

It is not known at this point how long the road will be closed for.
