Lothian bus diversions in place after crash on Gilmerton Road

Public transport has been diverted away from the scene of a crash on Gilmerton Road in Edinburgh.

The crash, which happened close to the junction with Mount Vernon Road and Kingston Avenue, happened at around 9am this morning.

Edinburgh Council told motorists that Gilmerton Road was “closed until further notice” while emergency services worked at the scene.

Affected bus routes

The following bus services have been diverted by the crash:

Number 8 - diverted away from Gilmerton Road via Moredunvale Road, Old Dalkeith Road, and Lady Road.

Number 3 and 29 - diverted along Lady Road, Old Dalkeith Road, and Ferniehill Drive in both directions.

The emergency services have been approached for comment.
