Edinburgh City Council's Transport and Environment convener, Lesley Macinnes, announced early today that the replacement Burnshot Bridge would be finished next Wednesday and be fully open from then.
The original bridge, built in 1964, was demolished in November 2017 due to deteriorating joints.

In a twitter post published early on Saturday morning, councillor Macinnes wrote: "Pleased to say that the extensive, challenging work on the Burnshot bridge over the last three years will be completed on Wed. The bridge will then be fully open.
"Many congratulations to the 200 strong team who have completed this major project @Edinburgh_CC”
The new Burnshot Bridge will incorporate improved cycling and pedestrian facilities, designed with input from active travel groups, including a segregated eastbound cycle lane and a shared use path.
