Passengers warned to check for train and flight cancellations as Storm Dennis batters Edinburgh

Those wishing to travel today are urged to check for journey updates as Storm Dennis continues with a weather warning for wind in Edinburgh and the Lothians.

Scotrail has warned that some services to Perth may be cancelled, and that journeys to Dunblane could be cancelled or started from Stirling instead.

Passengers travelling from Edinburgh to Dundee, Perth, Inverness or Aberdeen can use Scotrail tickets on LNER services between Aberdeen and Edinburgh in both directions.

Flights from Edinburgh Airport may also be cancelled or delayed and passengers should check the airport website before setting out.

The Forth Road Bridge remains closed to double decker buses, while the Queensferry Crossing is open as usual.

A Met Office yellow weather warning is in place across Scotland until midday on Monday.

The Met Office said: "Some very strong winds are likely in association with Storm Dennis.

Gusts of up to 70mph are predicted.Gusts of up to 70mph are predicted.

"Gusts of 50-60 mph are likely quite widely within the warning area for much of the period. #

"Gusts to 70 mph are likely at times, more especially across western Scotland on Sunday afternoon into Sunday evening with a separate swathe of 70 mph gusts probably crossing northern Scotland and Orkney for a time early on Monday."
