The 21 Edinburgh roads due to have their speed limits reduced from 40mph to 30mph

Edinburgh is about to see 21 roads in the city have their speed limits reduced from 40mph to 30mph, as part of a move to slow down vehicles in the capital.

Councillors are set to approve the plans at a Transport and Environment committee meeting on Thursday (27 Feb), which will force some of Edinburgh’s busiest roads to drop their speed limits by 10mph. Once approved, it will take the council between a year and 18 months to bring the changes to fruition, with signage and road markings put in place. These are all 21 roads that are due to change to 30mph. Images are for illustrative purposes only.
