Train strikes November 2022: Which Edinburgh trains are running as ScotRail services cancelled due to strike

Train passengers have been warned of serious disruption on November, 5, 7 and 9, as more strikes over pay and conditions for railway workers are set to take place. Services across Scotland will be cancelled or amended, as RMT trade union members take industrial action over the three days.

While ScotRail staff are not involved in the dispute, the strike will majorly impact the train operator’s services. Network Rail staff are set to walk out, and as many of these workers carry out important safety roles, several services will not run. Passengers have also been warned to expect disruption on the days surrounding the strike.

ScotRail has released a reduced timetable for trains, which will run between 7.30am and 6.30pm on Saturday, November 5, Monday, November 7, and Wednesday, November 9. All other services will be cancelled on the strike days.

These are the Edinburgh services that will run during the strike days:

Edinburgh – Glasgow via Falkirk High: two trains per hour

Edinburgh – Helensburgh: two trains per hour (Saturday timetable)

Edinburgh – Helensburgh: two trains per hour (Monday and Wednesday timetable)

Edinburgh – Glasgow via Shotts: one train per hour

Edinburgh – Cowdenbeath: two trains per hour

Edinburgh – Tweedbank: two trains per hour

Edinburgh - Larbert: one train per hour

Passengers have been urged to only travel by train if necessary on strike days. ScotRail has also warned the public to “expect disruption and plan ahead”.
