In the seven minute film the rooftopper can be seen scaling other sites across the city including North Bridge.

He described the views as “wicked” and that Scotland’s capital looked “sick with all the lights” on.

The video has since been posted on Youtube and has reached almost 4,500 views since the weekend.

The climber, who goes by the name The Chase on Instagram, has also posted pictures of himself at staggering heights in London, UK, and Toronto, Canada.

In a caption posted with his video on Youtube he says: “Here is a compilation of some roofs I've been exploring in Edinburgh since September. I climbed the glass roof over Waverley train station, which was a wicked explore.

"Scampering up North Bridge was fun too, and the view at the top of Waverley was just sick with all the lights. For the record, those security cameras were pointed down before we got there.”

Social media users have been quick to commend the video saying the views are “epic” but Network Rail has since issued a safety warning.

A Network Rail spokesman said: “The public should not misuse the railway or trespass on our infrastructure. Doing so can put your safety, and that of others, at risk and we will always seek to prosecute trespassers.”
