Retired builder Brian Allan died when his bike collided with another motorcycle being ridden by a friend on the A904 Bo’ness to South Queensferry Road on Monday.

Mr Allan, 62, was on his Honda bike travelling in the opposite direction. It is understood he and a friend riding another bike crashed into each other as they reacted to the minibus.

Mr Allan, of Bo’ness, West Lothian, described as a “passionate biker”, died at the scene. His 58-year-old friend and the 71-year-old driver of the minibus were uninjured.

Bikers at the Biker’s Cove Cafe, in South Queensferry, which Mr Allan frequented, said he would be “sadly missed”, adding that “biker heaven would have another angel”.

Any witnesses are asked to call police on 01786 456000.
