Tributes paid to constable

TRIBUTES have been paid to a special constable who died after taking ill at the wheel of his car.

Peter Shedden, 48, a bus inspector from Armadale, West Lothian, became ill while driving in Linlithgow, resulting in a minor collision.

In a statement, his family said: “We are extremely proud of all he achieved in his life, both personally and professionally with First Bus and as a special constable with Lothian and Borders Police.”

Chief Superintendent Jeanette McDiarmid said: “His dedication to the force is commendable, working as a volunteer for more than 24 years and helping deliver a high standard of policing to communities in West Lothian.”
