Two kids rescued after getting cut off by tide off East Lothian coast

Two children were rescued by multi-agency call out after getting cut off by tides at Tantallon Castle this afternoon.

Teams were called out to help the pair at the Castle on the small peninsula off the East Lothian coast, after they got stuck on the cliff.

The coastguard worked with teams from North Berwick Coastguard Rescue Team, Fisherrow Coastguard, RNLI North Berwick Lifeboat, Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and the Scottish Ambulance Service.

Dunbar Coastguard said in a Facebook post: "Teams started to set up our rope rescue equipment and deployed a Rope Technician over the cliff. Both casualties were secured and recovered up the cliff by the rope technician and cliff top teams.

“Casualties were checked over and both are safe and well.”
