US praise for mums plan

EXPERTS in the US have praised NHS Lothian for running a scheme to help young mothers and their babies.

The Family Nurse Partnership is 18 months into a pilot project, and has helped around 150 under 20s and their family.

Now, a university in America has welcomed the move, pointing to the success it had from a similar initiative.

Louella Lutchi, senior community health nurse supervisor at the Palm Beach County Health Department, said: “We are continuing to change the lives of our enrolled mothers in our programme.”
