Dalhousie Castle, near Bonnyrigg, has been nominated for ‘Small Venue of the Year’ in the prestigious UK Event Awards 2014.
John Badley, General Manager of Dalhousie Castle said: “It is fantastic news that we have beaten off the UK wide competition to be one of the four nominees for this category. I am particularly delighted for the team here at the castle, as it is their outstanding event service coupled with the wonderful facilities of this ancient castle which have placed us in this position.”
The award ceremony is taking place on November 28 in London, where the winner of the category will be announced.
Awards judge and Events Director Lynn Lester commented: “The standard within the entry submissions this year was incredibly high, which made the judging tougher than ever. It’s great to see so many organisations and events from all over the UK getting involved in the awards and competing for the recognition they so richly deserve. It’s fair to say the past year has been excellent for the industry and that is truly reflected in this year’s nominations.”
Built in the 13th century, Dalhousie has played witness to its fair share of history but is now a conference and banqueting venue for businesses and individuals.
