Voluntary sector bid
A DOZEN voluntary sector organisations have joined forces to show their support for the city’s school leavers.
As part of the Edinburgh Guarantee, all of the organisations have committed to identify jobs, paid internships or modern apprenticeships.
Councillor Tom Buchanan, economic development convener for the city council, said: “I am delighted that voluntary organisations are giving their full support to the Edinburgh Guarantee. Every offer of support is valuable, and I would encourage all employers to do what they can.”
Martin Crewe, director of Barnardo’s Scotland, said: “I hope that this initiative will show school leavers that working for a voluntary organisation can be an exciting career choice.”
