Volunteers responding for a decade in Penicuik
Penicuik Community First Responders (PCFR) recently celebrated their tenth birthday. In that time they have responded to 2,643 call-outs within the Penicuik area and volunteered more than 65,000 hours of cover.
PCFR are a group of volunteers trained by the Scottish Ambulance Service. They operate as part of a rota system from their own home or place of work and are dispatched at the same time as an ambulance, via ambulance control, to attend life-threatening calls.
