BAD weather is being blamed as Midlothian Council battles to re-open three roads hit by subsidence and landslips.
And remedial work may not be carried out until the New Year.
The A766 between Penicuik and Silverburn is the latest to be closed because of a landslip.
Council leader Bob Constable (SNP), the cabinet member with responsibility for roads, said: “It has been a particularly challenging year for the roads team, with the heavy rain causing landslips and subsidence.”
