Edinburgh weather: Heavy rain set to drench city as yellow weather warning hits West Lothian

Long periods of heavy rainfall are set to hit Edinburgh on Tuesday, with a yesllow weather warning for rain in place for parts of West Lothian.
The forecast for the capital couldn't be much different from today (Monday) tomorrow, with non-stop rain throughout the day, forecasters warn.

Hide AdAnd on top of that, parts of West Lothian have been issued with a yellow weather warning for rain throughout the day.
Monday is set to be dry for the majority of the day.
Edinburgh to be wet
Tuesday will start fairly wet, and unfortunately, it's unlikely to get much drier throughout the day.
Expert forecasters say that heavy rain will batter the city from 6am, with spells of light and heavy showers until 2pm.
From then on, it's wall-to-wall heavy rain for most of the afternoon, until more heavy showers see us through the evening.

Hide AdWind speeds are also expected to hit around 29mph, making for a blustery day.
West Lothian weather warning
The yellow weather warning issued by the Met Office covers large parts of the west of Scotland, coming inland as far as parts of West Lothian.
It is place from 6am to 3pm on Tuesday, but this can change through the day, so it's important to keep checking for updates.
The boundary of the warning cuts through West Lothian, with Linlithgow and Armadale included.

Hide AdA Met Office spokesperson said: "Rain, heavy at times will cross Scotland during Tuesday accompanied by strong and gusty winds.
"Rainfall accumulations widely 20 to 40mm locally and 60mm over high ground of western Scotland.
"Much of the rainfall will occur in a short time period.
"Winds will gust widely 40 to 50mph inland with 60mph possible in coastal areas."
