Temperatures will rise to about 17C for most of the day and will cool to about 13C by late evening.

With phase two potentially going ahead, this weekend could be the first in months when families and groups of friends can meet up in larger groups and in another household indoors, provided it’s safe and with physical distancing measures in place.

It could also be the first time in months that beer gardens and outdoor restaurant spaces can be used by members of the public and driving locally for leisure and exercise will be permitted.

Ms Sturgeon’s update is due to take place during her daily briefing tomorrow (Thursday, June 18).

Here are some other restrictions that could become more relaxed if the Scottish Government gives the green light to enter phase two of four phases to exit lockdown:

Schools, childcare and other educational settings

On-campus university lab research will be able to restart subject to physical distancing and small retail units will be allowed to reopen with physical distancing in place, along with outdoor markets, if Ms Sturgeon gives it the go-ahead.

Sport, culture and leisure activities

Playgrounds and sports courts can reopen with physical distancing, along with a resumption of professional sport in line with public health advice.

Work and business

Remote working should still remain the default position for those who can, but non-essential, indoor, non-office based workplaces will be allowed to resume, with physical distancing.

This will include factories, warehouses, and lab and research facilities.

Shopping, eating out and drinking

Small retail units will be allowed to reopen with physical distancing in place, along with outdoor markets.

Pubs and restaurants will be able to open outdoor spaces with physical distancing and increased hygiene routines.

Gatherings and occasions

Registration offices will open for high priority tasks and places of worship will be able to open for private prayer, with physical distancing and hygiene safeguards.

Marriages, civil partnerships and other types of ceremonies will also be allowed to take place with a limited number of attendees.
