With phase two potentially going ahead, this weekend could be the first in months when families and groups of friends can meet up in larger groups and in another household indoors, provided it’s safe and with physical distancing measures in place.
It could also be the first time in months that beer gardens and outdoor restaurant spaces can be used by members of the public and driving locally for leisure and exercise will be permitted.
Ms Sturgeon’s update is due to take place during her daily briefing tomorrow (Thursday, June 18).

Schools, childcare and other educational settings
On-campus university lab research will be able to restart subject to physical distancing and small retail units will be allowed to reopen with physical distancing in place, along with outdoor markets, if Ms Sturgeon gives it the go-ahead.
Sport, culture and leisure activities
Playgrounds and sports courts can reopen with physical distancing, along with a resumption of professional sport in line with public health advice.
Work and business
Remote working should still remain the default position for those who can, but non-essential, indoor, non-office based workplaces will be allowed to resume, with physical distancing.
