Met Office issues Yellow weather warning this weekend in Edinburgh

People in Edinburgh can expect the bad weather to continue over the weekend as a Yellow weather warning is in place throughout Saturday.

The warning for wind covers Edinburgh, as well as both East and West Lothian and is in place from 6am on Saturday until 10pm.

Sleet and rain is expected throughout the day, with temperatures feeling up to -4 Celcisus as gusts of wind blow.

The weather warning is not expected to last into Sunday.

The Met Office has warned people to expect the following:

- Some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are likely

- Probably some bus and train services affected, with some journeys taking longer

- Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges likely

- Some short term loss of power and other services is possible

- It’s likely that some coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities affected by spray and/or large waves
