This amazing picture shows an Edinburgh path turned into a fast-running river after heavy rain fell in the city overnight.

The image, taken by Cllr Hal Osler by the Water of Leith in Roseburn, shows how Storm Ciara had turned a path into a dangerously fast-flowing river just before lunchtime.

Flooding was also an issue on Seafield Road in Leith earlier on Sunday morning.

Edinburgh Waverley has been closed to non-ScotRail passengers due to overcrowding after cancelled trains caused the station to reach maximum capacity.

Rain is set to continue to fall in the Capital for the rest of Sunday and a yellow weather warning for rain remains in place.
